The long wait is over. In May 2016, Google announced some very pretty apps that are going to be launched. One of the app was for Video calling named DUO. This app takes Video calling to the next level. In the ordinary Video calling app, the receiver is able to see the caller only after accepting the call. But in DUO, the expression of the caller can be seen even before accepting the call. Google Duo is available for both Android and iOS and implements special technology to ensure the best user experience possible. No registration to the service is desired, simply allow the application to access our contacts for us to call the desired person via the phone number. Once you’ve chosen the contact will start the streaming broadcast via the internet and the quality of the same will vary based on network capacity. Also, if connectivity will increase from mobile network in Wifi video calling will continue without any problem.

Duo is not based on your Google account or any other email, it’s attached to your phone number, which makes it easier for you to chat with the contacts that are already in your phone. Duo is launched on Google Play and iOS too.

The Duo is very easy to use. The unique feature that you can see the caller before accepting the call is however not forced on you. You can change the settings too, if you don’t want users to see your video before accepting the call, follow these steps.

  1. Open Duo
  2. Tap on the three-dot menu on the top ,select Setting.
  3. If you don’t want the people you call to see you before they accept the call, you can slide the toggle for Knock Knock off.
